Two Arrests Following London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

The assault resulted in the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
